I was told,
To be cold
I was told,
To keep the hold
I was told,
To say what sold
But, I tried the reverse,
All to my own curse
Whatever was real,
Was not ideal
Now i know why they say,
You sometimes learn it the hard way
I wore the mask,
Up and ready for the task
Kept up the pace,
To win the race
Prospered, I toiled,
To fill the unseen void
But my attempts were of no use,
For there was no truce
Then i stumbled upon the forgotten,
The truth dead and rotten
I was told,
To help the old
I was told,
To bring everyone to the fold
I was told,
To nurture the mould
Enlightened I march again,
Oblivious of loss or gain
Without any fear or load,
Because I was told....
